HYPERCOLOR IS BACK BITCHES!!

OMG!!!! Remember HYPER-COLOR shirts? (picture found @ http://www.nostalgiaholic.com/)

They would change colors when your body temperature would heat up. Mine was pink and it would change to white when I played outside in the 80's.

I looked all over the web and found out they contained a thermochromic (temperature sensitive) pigment made by Matsui Shikiso Chemical of Japan, that changed between two colors–one when cold, one when warm. The shirts were produced with several color change choices from the late 1980s until the early 1990s.- source: Wikipedia

I LIKE THIS GUY:
Mr. Kenji Matsui had a keen eye for color and used that talent in the manufacturing of raw materials for the paint industry. In 1923 Mr. Matsui founded Matsui Shikiso Chemical LTD. His fascination with color and his passion for development soon resulted in expansion into the manufacturing of crayons in 1948 and ultimately led to the manufacturing of pigments and dyes for the textile industry in 1950. -source: http://www.unimarkusa.com/
I thought it was the coolest thing and it was another fad in HISTORY...until I saw something similar on the AMERICAN APPAREL website.
Here's what they say about the shirts on their website:
Our ultralight Sheer Jersey T-shirt, made with a temperature sensitive pigment that changes between two colors - one when cold, one when warm. They come in 5 different shades and only cost 28 bucks!

Real Willy Wonka kid......

Remember when Augustus Gloop fell into the Chocolate River? Well, a 29 year old did the same thing yesterday and we finally found out what happens when you drown in chocolate...you die.
Those aren't nuts in your Hershey's bar....that's Vincent Smith the II!!

Here's the story from cnn.com:

An employee at a New Jersey chocolate processing plant died Wednesday after falling into a vat of hot chocolate, according to a spokesman for the Camden County Prosecutor's office.
Vincent Smith II, 29, was dumping raw chocolate into the vat for melting when he fell in from a nine-foot high platform. He suffered a fatal blow to the head from the vat's agitator, a paddle-like mechanism used for stirring the chocolate.
According to the Camden County prosecutor's office, three other people were on the platform at the time. One was able to shut the machinery off quickly, but it was too late to save Smith.
The facility, owned by Cocoa Services Inc., is managed and operated by by Lyons and Sons.
The rectangular vat, which was 8 feet deep, 14 feet long and 6 feet wide, was churning a batch of chocolate for Hershey's when the accident occurred, the prosecutor's office said.

Wedding gift idea

I attended my best friend's wedding this weekend and it was awesome...I can't wait to blog about the details.
I was debating for months what to get that special duo in my life, but I think I came up with a pretty good gift. I didn't want to get the couple anything normal...A.K.A. what they wanted. I wanted them to be surprised and get something fun to play with. The bride is my best friend, Lauren and I know she likes grown-up toys. So I found a pretty cool waterproof camera/camcorder that they could take on their honeymoon.

They also love to travel so I thought cool Passport covers were in order....with a traveler's check of course. Dub likes natural mellow colors and Lauren loves bright exciting colors.....thank goodness I found something for both.

PINK & TENN

I was shocked to see these PINK University Of Tennessee pj's. Especially in Florida! The lady told me they were sent to West Palm Beach by mistake.....cool!
It's the new collegiate PINK line.

They offer many schools in Florida too:

Florida State

FAMU

University of Florida

University of Miami

University of South Florida

University of Central Florida

Did you know Juicy Couture tried suing Victoria Secret in 2008 for having similar marketing on the seat of their sweatpants?

Did you know Juicy Couture is a Liz Claiborne company?

KEY LARGO

I went to the Keys this past weekend because it's only two hours away. Well, Key Largo that is. Key West was 3 more hours away so I decided to stay in Key Largo. Plus, the awesome song by the Beach Boys, "Kokomo" states that Key Largo is one of the many tropical places you can get away from it all.
Key Largo at sunset!!
The key's rule because you can see the sunrise on the East and then at night walk over to the West and see the sunset.

I found some great places while I was there and some items too!!
The seahorse necklace was a really cool find at a local consignment shop. It was handcrafted for someone special in the keys, Sterling silver, & it's the only one on earth! I bought the necklace for 20 bucks and could not believe it. It was such a great deal and unique too! The same store had even more amazing things.....pucci bathing suits, prada sunglasses, tons of vintage clothing, jewelry, and furniture.

Mr. C's Gourmet Italian was the best tasting ICE I have ever had. The flavors were tropical and very fresh. I went with the strawberry/mango and went back the next day for another!!
This is me as an average ice cream cone. I didn't try one of these waffle ice cream concoctions....have you ever seen this?

BEST BREAKFAST IN TOWN:
I kept passing the little diner below and every time I did I was more intrigued to find out what was inside. I found Real Olen Mills family pics hanging on the walls, family keepsakes, talkative locals, & breakfast smells all day long. They have been in business for 27 years sering locals and visitors delicious meals.

I met my GWENY!!

No Doubt played West Palm Beach July 3rd and I was lucky enough to meet them. It was such a cool show and I never thought I would get the chance to see them preform. I have been a huge fan since I bought my little sister the "Tragic Kingdom" cassette tape for her birthday. Lauren and I loved and identified with their hit song, "I'm Just a girl" for obvious reasons. My dad is a huge fan too.... it's a family affair.

"HELLA GOOD"

I did manage to get in trouble at the No Doubt concert....shocking I know. I was instructed not to take any pictures of Gwen and the boys. Of course I could not contain myself and the minute I saw her my paparazzi skills kicked in. I took one picture before being reprimanded by her wranglers. The over sized dude said the band would get mad at him because he didn't warn me. So the minute I got to talk to them I told Gwen that the over sized dude did tell me but I couldn't resist. She was cool and we started talking about her L.A.M.B. clothing line and she told me she had the same sunglasses as me. Right on Gweny!!!
She made two outfit changes during the show and I was very happy Gwen opened wearing her tomboy attire. She wore her infamous wife beater, lime green bra, and of course a pair of pants 3 sizes too big for her.
Below is the second outfit and I'm in love with it!! It reminds me of her L.A.M.B. clothing line which I adore.

Cool rain shoes

TORY JELLIES..................These are a way better option than crocs.....because I think crocs are ugly. They have ventilation holes for rain showers and your footsies won't stink. I love the molded jelly Tory Burch logo and the bold candy colors they come in. I'm thinking of the yellow pair and they are perfect for South Florida's tropical weather. Yeah....bring on those daily 3:00pm rain clouds!
